United Arab Emirates stocks mixed at close of trade; DFM General down 0.03%

Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were mixed after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Services, Consumer Staples and Insurance sectors led shares higher while losses in the Banking, Telecoms and Transport sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Dubai, the DFM General lost 0.03%, while the ADX General index gained 0.12%.

The best performers of the session on the DFM General were SHUAA Capital PSC (DU:SHUA), which rose 2.86% or 0.030 points to trade at 1.080 at the close. Meanwhile, Marka Pjse (DU:MARKA) added 2.49% or 0.02 points to end at 0.70 and Amlak Finance PJSC (DU:AMLK) was up 1.85% or 0.020 points to 1.100 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Mashreqbank PSC (DU:MASB), which fell 5.41% or 4.00 points to trade at 70.00 at the close. Gulf Navigation Holding PJSC (DU:GNAV) declined 2.01% or 0.030 points to end at 1.460 and ARAMEX PJSC (DU:ARMX) was down 1.37% or 0.070 points to 5.050.

The top performers on the ADX General were National Bank of Fujairah PJSC (AD:NBF) which rose 15.00% to 4.60, Ras Al Khaimah Poultry and Feeding Co (AD:RAKP) which was up 3.03% to settle at 3.40 and Bank Of Sharja (AD:BOS) which gained 2.50% to close at 1.230.

The worst performers were Foodco Holding PJSC (AD:FOOD) which was down 8.51% to 4.30 in late trade, Al Khazna Ins (AD:AKIC) which lost 6.45% to settle at 0.290 and Commercial Bank International (AD:CBI) which was down 6.10% to 0.770 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 19 to 13 and 5 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 16 fell and 7 advanced, while 6 ended unchanged.

Shares in National Bank of Fujairah PJSC (AD:NBF) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 15.00% or 0.60 to 4.60. Shares in Commercial Bank International (AD:CBI) fell to 3-years lows; falling 6.10% or 0.050 to 0.770.

Crude oil for December delivery was up 1.18% or 0.64 to $55.02 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 0.97% or 0.59 to hit $61.53 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.72% or 9.19 to trade at $1279.69 a troy ounce.

USD/AED was up 0.01% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED fell 0.06% to 4.2757.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 94.51.
