United Arab Emirates stocks mixed at close of trade; DFM General down 0.36%

Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were mixed after the close on Sunday, as gains in the Insurance, Consumer Staples and Telecoms sectors led shares higher while losses in the Finance & Investment, Banking and Transport sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Dubai, the DFM General fell 0.36%, while the ADX General index gained 0.49%.

The best performers of the session on the DFM General were Dubai Islamic Insurance Co. (DU:AMAN), which rose 1.88% or 0.017 points to trade at 0.922 at the close. Meanwhile, Takaful Emarat PSC (DU:TKFE) added 1.31% or 0.030 points to end at 2.320 and Drake & Scull International PJSC (DU:DSI) was up 1.20% or 0.005 points to 0.422 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were SHUAA Capital PSC (DU:SHUA), which fell 2.65% or 0.040 points to trade at 1.470 at the close. Gulf Navigation Holding PJSC (DU:GNAV) declined 2.04% or 0.030 points to end at 1.440 and Dubai Financial Market PJSC (DU:DFM) was down 1.72% or 0.020 points to 1.140.

The top performers on the ADX General were Dana Gas (AD:DANA) which rose 13.21% to 0.600, Nat Bk Qaiwain (AD:NBQ) which was up 5.66% to settle at 2.80 and Gulf Pharm Ind (AD:GPHI) which gained 4.55% to close at 2.300.

The worst performers were Al Khazna Ins (AD:AKIC) which was down 5.26% to 0.360 in late trade, Ad Natl Energy (AD:TAQA) which lost 3.51% to settle at 0.550 and Eshraq Properties Co PJSC (AD:ESHR) which was down 1.87% to 1.0500 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 19 to 12 and 5 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 10 rose and 8 declined, while 7 ended unchanged.

Shares in Dana Gas (AD:DANA) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 13.21% or 0.070 to 0.600.

Crude oil for July delivery was up 0.59% or 0.27 to $45.91 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 0.79% or 0.38 to hit $48.24 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.79% or 10.05 to trade at $1269.45 a troy ounce.

USD/AED was up 0.00% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED fell 0.15% to 4.1128.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.30% at 97.24.
