Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were lower after the close on Sunday, as losses in the Finance & Investment, Consumer Staples and Real Estate & Construction sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General declined 1.01% to hit a new 6-months low, while the ADX General index fell 0.45%.
The best performers of the session on the DFM General were Arabtec Holding PJSC (DU:ARTC), which rose 2.48% or 0.018 points to trade at 0.743 at the close. Meanwhile, National Central Cooling Co. (DU:TABR) added 1.05% or 0.020 points to end at 1.920 and AJMAN BANK PJSC (DU:AJBNK) was up 0.84% or 0.010 points to 1.200 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Dubai Islamic Insurance Co. (DU:AMAN), which fell 3.82% or 0.027 points to trade at 0.680 at the close. Dubai Financial Market PJSC (DU:DFM) declined 2.80% or 0.030 points to end at 1.040 and Dubai Investments PJSC (DU:DINV) was down 2.43% or 0.050 points to 2.010.
The top performers on the ADX General were Green Crs Ins (AD:GCIC) which rose 15.00% to 0.690, Bank Of Sharja (AD:BOS) which was up 7.50% to settle at 1.290 and Invest Bank AD (AD:INVB) which gained 2.17% to close at 2.350.
The worst performers were Nat Bk Qaiwain (AD:NBQ) which was down 9.06% to 2.81 in late trade, Sharjah Cement AD (AD:SCID) which lost 8.16% to settle at 0.900 and Dana Gas (AD:DANA) which was down 4.88% to 0.390 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 22 to 5 and 4 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 16 fell and 3 advanced, while 6 ended unchanged.
Shares in Dubai Financial Market PJSC (DU:DFM) fell to 52-week lows; down 2.80% or 0.030 to 1.040. Shares in Sharjah Cement AD (AD:SCID) fell to 3-years lows; losing 8.16% or 0.080 to 0.900. Shares in Dana Gas (AD:DANA) fell to 52-week lows; down 4.88% or 0.020 to 0.390.
Crude oil for July delivery was up 1.98% or 0.97 to $49.87 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 1.55% or 0.80 to hit $52.26 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.82% or 10.25 to trade at $1266.65 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was up 0.01% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED fell 0.23% to 4.1060.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.20% at 97.33.
