Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Consumer Staples, Finance & Investment and Banking sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General lost 0.78% to hit a new 3-months low, while the ADX General index lost 0.13%.
The best performers of the session on the DFM General were Amanat Holdings PJSC (DU:AMANT), which rose 2.68% or 0.030 points to trade at 1.150 at the close. Meanwhile, National Central Cooling Co. (DU:TABR) added 1.59% or 0.030 points to end at 1.920 and Emaar Malls (DU:EMAA) was up 1.15% or 0.030 points to 2.630 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Dubai Financial Market PJSC (DU:DFM), which fell 3.57% or 0.040 points to trade at 1.080 at the close. Gulf General Investments Company (DU:GGIC) declined 3.39% or 0.013 points to end at 0.370 and DXB Entertainments (P.J.S.C.) (DU:DXBE) was down 2.18% or 0.018 points to 0.807.
The top performers on the ADX General were Dana Gas (AD:DANA) which rose 2.38% to 0.430, Arkan Building Materials Co PJSC (AD:ARKN) which was up 1.49% to settle at 0.6800 and Ad Commercial (AD:ADCB) which gained 0.68% to close at 7.35.
The worst performers were Commercial Bank International (AD:CBI) which was down 5.06% to 1.500 in late trade, United Arab Bk (AD:UAB) which lost 3.85% to settle at 1.500 and Sharjah Cement AD (AD:SCID) which was down 2.97% to 0.980 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 25 to 9 and 2 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 15 fell and 4 advanced, while 9 ended unchanged.
Shares in Dubai Financial Market PJSC (DU:DFM) fell to 52-week lows; down 3.57% or 0.040 to 1.080. Shares in Gulf General Investments Company (DU:GGIC) fell to 3-years lows; falling 3.39% or 0.013 to 0.370. Shares in DXB Entertainments (P.J.S.C.) (DU:DXBE) fell to 52-week lows; down 2.18% or 0.018 to 0.807. Shares in Commercial Bank International (AD:CBI) fell to 52-week lows; down 5.06% or 0.080 to 1.500. Shares in United Arab Bk (AD:UAB) fell to all time lows; losing 3.85% or 0.060 to 1.500.
Crude oil for July delivery was down 0.59% or 0.30 to $50.83 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.59% or 0.32 to hit $53.55 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.12% or 1.46 to trade at $1259.94 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was up 0.01% to 3.6732, while EUR/AED fell 0.00% to 4.1274.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.02% at 96.86.
