United Arab Emirates stocks lower at close of trade; DFM General down 0.25%

Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Finance & Investment, Real Estate & Construction and Services sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Dubai, the DFM General lost 0.25%, while the ADX General index lost 0.28%.

The best performers of the session on the DFM General were Drake & Scull International PJSC (DU:DSI), which rose 4.37% or 0.080 points to trade at 1.910 at the close. Meanwhile, ARAMEX PJSC (DU:ARMX) added 4.04% or 0.190 points to end at 4.890 and DXB Entertainments (P.J.S.C.) (DU:DXBE) was up 2.96% or 0.019 points to 0.660 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Dubai Investments PJSC (DU:DINV), which fell 2.38% or 0.060 points to trade at 2.460 at the close. Marka Pjse (DU:MARKA) declined 2.36% or 0.01 points to end at 0.62 and SHUAA Capital PSC (DU:SHUA) was down 1.77% or 0.020 points to 1.110.

The top performers on the ADX General were Abu Dhabi National for Building Materials Co PJSC (AD:BILD) which rose 2.38% to 0.430, Bank Of Sharja (AD:BOS) which was up 1.67% to settle at 1.220 and Emirates Telec (AD:ETEL) which gained 0.92% to close at 16.40.

The worst performers were Al Ain Ahlia Insurance Co PSC (AD:AAIC) which was down 6.98% to 38.00 in late trade, Abu Dhabi National Hotels Co (AD:ADNH) which lost 5.26% to settle at 2.70 and Dana Gas (AD:DANA) which was down 2.78% to 0.700 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 19 to 11 and 12 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 9 rose and 8 declined, while 8 ended unchanged.

Shares in Marka Pjse (DU:MARKA) fell to all time lows; falling 2.36% or 0.01 to 0.62. Shares in Al Ain Ahlia Insurance Co PSC (AD:AAIC) fell to 52-week lows; down 6.98% or 2.85 to 38.00.

Crude oil for January delivery was down 0.76% or 0.44 to $57.55 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February fell 0.98% or 0.62 to hit $62.62 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.11% or 1.39 to trade at $1293.51 a troy ounce.

USD/AED was unchanged 0.00% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED fell 0.03% to 4.3477.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 93.24.
