United Arab Emirates stocks higher at close of trade; DFM General up 0.29%

Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Finance & Investment, Insurance and Transport sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Dubai, the DFM General added 0.29%, while the ADX General index gained 0.31%.

The best performers of the session on the DFM General were Dubai Islamic Insurance Co. (DU:AMAN), which rose 14.02% or 0.134 points to trade at 1.090 at the close. Meanwhile, Takaful Emarat PSC (DU:TKFE) added 4.35% or 0.100 points to end at 2.400 and Dubai Investments PJSC (DU:DINV) was up 3.67% or 0.090 points to 2.540 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were National Central Cooling Co. (DU:TABR), which fell 3.00% or 0.060 points to trade at 1.940 at the close. SHUAA Capital PSC (DU:SHUA) declined 2.05% or 0.030 points to end at 1.430 and Gulf Navigation Holding PJSC (DU:GNAV) was down 1.86% or 0.030 points to 1.580.

The top performers on the ADX General were Int Fish Farmi (AD:ASMK) which rose 14.62% to 2.43, Al Khazna Ins (AD:AKIC) which was up 8.51% to settle at 0.510 and Gulf Pharm Ind (AD:GPHI) which gained 8.06% to close at 2.280.

The worst performers were Green Crs Ins (AD:GCIC) which was down 7.59% to 0.730 in late trade, Natl Bk Of Rak (AD:RAKB) which lost 1.80% to settle at 4.90 and Agthia Group (AD:AGTH) which was down 0.72% to 6.90 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 17 to 14 and 8 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 15 rose and 7 declined, while 7 ended unchanged.

Shares in Dubai Islamic Insurance Co. (DU:AMAN) rose to 52-week highs; up 14.02% or 0.134 to 1.090. Shares in Dubai Investments PJSC (DU:DINV) rose to 52-week highs; up 3.67% or 0.090 to 2.540.

Crude oil for February delivery was up 0.34% or 0.18 to $53.44 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 0.34% or 0.19 to hit $56.65 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 0.57% or 6.65 to trade at $1171.95 a troy ounce.

USD/AED was unchanged 0.00% to 3.6731, while EUR/AED fell 0.01% to 3.8543.

The US Dollar Index was down 0.05% at 102.44.
