United Arab Emirates stocks higher at close of trade; DFM General up 0.38%

Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Transport, Real Estate & Construction and Banking sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Dubai, the DFM General rose 0.38%, while the ADX General index climbed 0.30%.

The best performers of the session on the DFM General were Gulf Navigation Holding PJSC (DU:GNAV), which rose 5.47% or 0.070 points to trade at 1.350 at the close. Meanwhile, Amlak Finance PJSC (DU:AMLK) added 1.82% or 0.020 points to end at 1.120 and Union Properties PJSC (DU:UPRO) was up 1.37% or 0.012 points to 0.889 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Takaful House (DU:DTKF), which fell 0.92% or 0.010 points to trade at 1.080 at the close. Amanat Holdings PJSC (DU:AMANT) declined 0.91% or 0.010 points to end at 1.090 and AJMAN BANK PJSC (DU:AJBNK) was down 0.86% or 0.010 points to 1.150.

The top performers on the ADX General were Abu Dhabi National Hotels Co (AD:ADNH) which rose 5.46% to 3.09, Agthia Group (AD:AGTH) which was up 5.28% to settle at 5.58 and Gulf Cement Co (AD:GCEM) which gained 4.90% to close at 1.0700.

The worst performers were Gulf Medical Projects Co PSC (AD:GMPC) which was down 8.33% to 1.98 in late trade, Arkan Building Materials Co PJSC (AD:ARKN) which lost 3.08% to settle at 0.6300 and Ad Natl Energy (AD:TAQA) which was down 1.64% to 0.600 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 19 to 17 and 3 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 10 fell and 8 advanced, while 8 ended unchanged.

Shares in Gulf Medical Projects Co PSC (AD:GMPC) fell to 52-week lows; falling 8.33% or 0.18 to 1.98.

Crude oil for October delivery was down 0.27% or 0.13 to $47.70 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.48% or 0.25 to hit $51.62 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.17% or 2.25 to trade at $1293.25 a troy ounce.

USD/AED was up 0.01% to 3.6732, while EUR/AED rose 0.19% to 4.3289.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.13% at 93.30.
