Investing.com – U.K. stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Mobile Telecommunications, Fixed Line Telecommunications and Pharmaceuticals & Biotech sectors led shares lower.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 declined 0.09%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were Flutter Entertainment PLC (LON:FLTRF), which rose 4.27% or 785.00 points to trade at 19,160.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Pershing Square Holdings Ltd (LON:PSHP) added 3.94% or 148.00 points to end at 3,906.00 and Antofagasta PLC (LON:ANTO) was up 2.72% or 49.50 points to 1,867.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Vodafone Group PLC (LON:VOD), which fell 4.43% or 3.34 points to trade at 72.00 at the close. JD Sports Fashion PLC (LON:JD) declined 2.67% or 2.02 points to end at 73.74 and BP PLC (LON:BP) was down 2.04% or 9.20 points to 440.80.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the London Stock Exchange by 921 to 880 and 574 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.14% or 4.41 to $3,043.99 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 0.94% or 0.64 to hit $68.92 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.81% or 0.58 to trade at $72.19 a barrel.
GBP/USD was unchanged 0.09% to 1.29, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.08% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.28% at 104.04.
