Investing.com – U.K. stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Mining, Fixed Line Telecommunications and Industrial Metals & Mining sectors led shares lower.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 lost 0.07%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were Centrica PLC (LON:CNA), which rose 4.10% or 5.95 points to trade at 151.05 at the close. Meanwhile, BAE Systems PLC (LON:BAES) added 3.94% or 49.50 points to end at 1,305.00 and Vodafone Group PLC (LON:VOD) was up 3.32% or 2.20 points to 68.40 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Entain PLC (LON:ENT), which fell 4.20% or 31.00 points to trade at 707.00 at the close. Flutter Entertainment PLC (LON:FLTRF) declined 3.90% or 870.00 points to end at 21,420.00 and Scottish Mortgage Investment Trust PLC (LON:SMT) was down 3.07% or 34.00 points to 1,074.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the London Stock Exchange by 1013 to 779 and 590 ended unchanged.
Shares in Centrica PLC (LON:CNA) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 4.10% or 5.95 to 151.05.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.14% or 4.09 to $2,957.29 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 0.53% or 0.37 to hit $70.77 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 0.42% or 0.31 to trade at $74.36 a barrel.
GBP/USD was unchanged 0.06% to 1.26, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.13% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.02% at 106.50.
