Investing.com – U.K. stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Oil Equipment Services & Distribution, Travel & Leisure and Industrial Transportation sectors led shares higher.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 added 0.94%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were Ocado Group PLC (LON:OCDO), which rose 4.61% or 53.00 points to trade at 1204.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Tui AG (LON:TUIT) added 4.10% or 30.60 points to end at 777.40 and EasyJet PLC (LON:EZJ) was up 3.95% or 35.00 points to 922.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Fresnillo PLC (LON:FRES), which fell 1.75% or 11.60 points to trade at 652.00 at the close. Prudential PLC (LON:PRU) declined 1.17% or 16.50 points to end at 1399.00 and Sage Group PLC (LON:SGE) was down 0.49% or 3.40 points to 695.60.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the London Stock Exchange by 1551 to 645 and 178 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.76% or 11.55 to $1512.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 2.13% or 1.17 to hit $55.98 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 1.65% or 0.97 to trade at $59.61 a barrel.
GBP/USD was down 0.07% to 1.2141, while EUR/GBP rose 0.10% to 0.9137.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 98.135.
