Investing.com – U.K. stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Mining, Pharmaceuticals & Biotech and Real Estate sectors led shares higher.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 added 0.60%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were GSK plc (LON:GSK), which rose 7.61% or 105.00 points to trade at 1,485.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Fresnillo PLC (LON:FRES) added 5.82% or 41.50 points to end at 755.00 and Marks and Spencer Group PLC (LON:MKS) was up 3.65% or 12.60 points to 357.60 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Diageo PLC (LON:DGE), which fell 3.97% or 92.50 points to trade at 2,235.00 at the close. DCC plc (LON:DCC) declined 3.55% or 195.00 points to end at 5,300.00 and Croda International PLC (LON:CRDA) was down 3.21% or 103.00 points to 3,110.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the London Stock Exchange by 993 to 762 and 632 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.72% or 20.59 to $2,896.39 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 2.10% or 1.53 to hit $71.17 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 1.94% or 1.48 to trade at $74.72 a barrel.
GBP/USD was unchanged 0.30% to 1.25, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.10% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.49% at 107.29.
