Investing.com – U.K. stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Aerospace & Defense, Banking and Financial Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 rose 0.46%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were BAE Systems PLC (LON:BAES), which rose 8.96% or 110.00 points to trade at 1,338.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Schroders PLC (LON:SDR) added 3.55% or 13.20 points to end at 384.80 and Barclays PLC (LON:BARC) was up 3.33% or 9.80 points to 304.40 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were B&M European Value Retail SA (LON:BMEB), which fell 2.89% or 9.10 points to trade at 306.20 at the close. British American Tobacco PLC (LON:BATS) declined 2.10% or 65.00 points to end at 3,025.00 and Segro Plc (LON:SGRO) was down 2.05% or 15.00 points to 716.40.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the London Stock Exchange by 875 to 783 and 625 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.38% or 11.00 to $2,911.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 0.57% or 0.40 to hit $71.11 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 0.40% or 0.30 to trade at $75.04 a barrel.
GBP/USD was unchanged 0.17% to 1.26, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.23% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 106.65.
