Bitcoin price today: muted at $118k but altcoins soar as House passes new bills
Investing.com – U.K. stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Travel & Leisure, Industrial Transportation and Electronic & Electrical Equipment sectors led shares higher.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 added 0.23%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were Entain PLC (LON:ENT), which rose 15.25% or 114.60 points to trade at 866.00 at the close. Meanwhile, International Consolidated Airlines Group S.A. (LON:ICAG) added 3.35% or 10.60 points to end at 327.30 and Informa PLC (LON:INF) was up 3.04% or 23.60 points to 799.80 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Diageo PLC (LON:DGE), which fell 2.26% or 44.00 points to trade at 1,906.00 at the close. Fresnillo PLC (LON:FRES) declined 1.94% or 28.00 points to end at 1,417.00 and B&M European Value Retail SA (LON:BMEB) was down 1.84% or 4.80 points to 255.90.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the London Stock Exchange by 1087 to 666 and 581 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.94% or 32.38 to $3,420.42 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 2.47% or 1.76 to hit $69.53 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 2.47% or 1.83 to trade at $72.40 a barrel.
GBP/USD was unchanged 0.22% to 1.36, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.04% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.27% at 97.48.
