Investing.com – U.K. stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Healthcare Equipment & Services, Gas, Water & Multiutilities and Electrical sectors led shares lower.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 fell 0.45%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were Tui AG (LON:TUIT), which rose 1.35% or 15.00 points to trade at 1129.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Carnival PLC (LON:CCL) added 1.22% or 46.00 points to end at 3831.00 and Barclays PLC (LON:BARC) was up 1.04% or 1.80 points to 174.25 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were EasyJet PLC (LON:EZJ), which fell 6.93% or 69.500 points to trade at 933.500 at the close. International Consolidated Airlines Group S.A. (LON:ICAG) declined 3.91% or 15.50 points to end at 381.30 and Fresnillo PLC (LON:FRES) was down 3.64% or 61.00 points to 1614.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the London Stock Exchange by 1367 to 988 and 442 ended unchanged.
Shares in EasyJet PLC (LON:EZJ) fell to 3-years lows; down 6.93% or 69.500 to 933.500.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.86% or 10.95 to $1257.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 1.02% or 0.51 to hit $50.34 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 1.18% or 0.61 to trade at $52.47 a barrel.
GBP/USD was down 0.68% to 1.2657, while EUR/GBP rose 0.28% to 0.8818.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.44% at 96.55.
