Investing.com – U.K. stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Industrial Metals & Mining, Financial Services and Industrial Transportation sectors led shares higher.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 added 0.04% to hit a new all time high.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were 3I Group PLC (LON:III), which rose 3.69% or 31.00 points to trade at 871.50 at the close. Meanwhile, EasyJet PLC (LON:EZJ) added 2.68% or 36.00 points to end at 1380.00 and Royal Mail PLC (LON:RMG) was up 2.12% or 9.10 points to 438.10 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Capita PLC (LON:CPI), which fell 5.46% or 31.50 points to trade at 546.00 at the close. Anglo American PLC (LON:AAL) declined 2.44% or 26.50 points to end at 1057.50 and Dixons Carphone PLC (LON:DC) was down 1.99% or 6.80 points to 335.20.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the London Stock Exchange by 949 to 788 and 464 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.25% or 3.13 to $1256.23 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 4.65% or 2.39 to hit $48.97 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 4.39% or 2.37 to trade at $51.59 a barrel.
GBP/USD was down 0.12% to 1.2954, while EUR/GBP rose 0.12% to 0.8662.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.09% at 97.04.
