Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Transport, Basic Metals and Metal Products & Machinery sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 1.46%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Kordsa Global (IS:KORDS), which rose 3.86% or 0.25 points to trade at 6.72 at the close. Meanwhile, Tesco Kipa (IS:KIPA) added 3.21% or 0.050 points to end at 1.610 and Aksa (IS:AKSA) was up 2.61% or 0.24 points to 9.43 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Pegasus (IS:PGSUS), which fell 7.01% or 1.000 points to trade at 13.270 at the close. Vakif Gmyo (IS:VKGYO) declined 4.15% or 0.100 points to end at 2.310 and Celebi (IS:CLEBI) was down 3.14% or 0.72 points to 22.22.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 262 to 86 and 59 ended unchanged.
Gold for February delivery was up 0.37% or 4.30 to $1156.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.89% or 0.48 to hit $54.20 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 0.81% or 0.46 to trade at $57.28 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 1.19% to 3.5873, while EUR/TRY rose 0.52% to 3.7257.
The US Dollar Index was up 1.03% at 103.42.
