Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Basic Metals, Transport and Textile & Leather sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 1.28%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Yazicilar Holding (IS:YAZIC), which rose 3.51% or 0.51 points to trade at 15.05 at the close. Meanwhile, Karsan Otomotiv (IS:KARSN) added 3.45% or 0.040 points to end at 1.200 and Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS) was up 3.13% or 0.010 points to 0.330 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Pegasus (IS:PGSUS), which fell 4.00% or 0.660 points to trade at 15.850 at the close. Hurriyet Gzt. (IS:HURGZ) declined 3.75% or 0.030 points to end at 0.770 and Tat Konserve (IS:TATGD) was down 3.63% or 0.230 points to 6.110.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 247 to 107 and 50 ended unchanged.
Gold for February delivery was down 1.21% or 14.65 to $1196.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 0.09% or 0.05 to hit $53.23 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.05% or 0.03 to trade at $55.41 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 1.53% to 3.8414, while EUR/TRY rose 1.63% to 4.1274.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.21% at 100.06.
