Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Basic Metals, Electricity and Transport sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 1.19%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Kartonsan (IS:KARTN), which rose 1.74% or 5.20 points to trade at 303.30 at the close. Meanwhile, Ulker Biskuvi (IS:ULKER) added 1.63% or 0.29 points to end at 18.12 and Tumosan Motor Ve Traktor (IS:TMSN) was up 0.84% or 0.060 points to 7.210 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Tekfen Holding (IS:TKFEN), which fell 4.90% or 0.45 points to trade at 8.74 at the close. Ipek Dogal Enerji (IS:IPEKE) declined 4.39% or 0.090 points to end at 1.960 and Odas Elektrik (IS:ODAS) was down 4.21% or 0.480 points to 10.920.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 296 to 57 and 51 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.65% or 8.25 to $1286.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 0.34% or 0.18 to hit $52.93 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 0.47% or 0.26 to trade at $55.60 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.41% to 3.6644, while EUR/TRY rose 0.02% to 3.8998.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.32% at 100.38.
