Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Transport, Telecoms and Holdings & Investments sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 1.18% to hit a new 6-months low.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Ipek Dogal Enerji (IS:IPEKE), which rose 4.59% or 0.100 points to trade at 2.280 at the close. Meanwhile, Metro Holding (IS:METRO) added 3.17% or 0.020 points to end at 0.650 and Sasa Polyester (IS:SASA) was up 2.63% or 0.060 points to 2.340 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Dogus Otomotiv (IS:DOAS), which fell 5.80% or 0.80 points to trade at 13.00 at the close. Migros Ticaret (IS:MGROS) declined 4.60% or 0.80 points to end at 16.60 and Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS) was down 4.35% or 0.010 points to 0.230.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 270 to 125 and 15 ended unchanged.
Shares in Migros Ticaret (IS:MGROS) fell to 52-week lows; falling 4.60% or 0.80 to 16.60. Shares in Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS) fell to 5-year lows; falling 4.35% or 0.010 to 0.230.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.50% or 5.80 to $1159.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 2.71% or 1.12 to hit $40.20 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 2.58% or 1.21 to trade at $45.41 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.09% to 2.9184, while EUR/TRY rose 1.02% to 3.3146.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.79% at 95.01.
