Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Transport, Information Technology and Leasing & Factoring sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 0.88%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Karsan Otomotiv (IS:KARSN), which rose 5.17% or 0.060 points to trade at 1.220 at the close. Meanwhile, Turcas Petrol (IS:TRCAS) added 4.00% or 0.070 points to end at 1.820 and Besiktas Futbol Yat. (IS:BJKAS) was up 3.14% or 0.160 points to 5.260 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Alcatel Lucent Teletas Telekomunikasyon AS Class A (IS:ALCTL), which fell 19.95% or 2.480 points to trade at 9.950 at the close. Vakif Gmyo (IS:VKGYO) declined 7.12% or 0.220 points to end at 2.870 and Park Elek. Madencilik (IS:PRKME) was down 4.23% or 0.130 points to 2.940.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 246 to 109 and 50 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.20% or 2.55 to $1249.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 0.81% or 0.39 to hit $47.85 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.98% or 0.50 to trade at $50.46 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.44% to 3.6173, while EUR/TRY fell 0.36% to 3.9118.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.13% at 99.42.
