Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Metal Products & Machinery, Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic and Information Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 0.82% to hit a new 6-months low.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS), which rose 4.35% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.230 at the close. Meanwhile, Koza Altin (IS:KOZAL) added 2.94% or 0.75 points to end at 26.30 and Sasa Polyester (IS:SASA) was up 2.70% or 0.060 points to 2.280 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Dogus Otomotiv (IS:DOAS), which fell 15.85% or 2.60 points to trade at 13.80 at the close. Gsd Holding (IS:GSDHO) declined 5.31% or 0.060 points to end at 1.070 and Alkim Kimya (IS:ALKIM) was down 4.62% or 0.60 points to 12.40.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 270 to 134 and 7 ended unchanged.
Shares in Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS) rose to 5-year lows; up 4.35% or 0.010 to 0.230.
Gold for December delivery was up 1.98% or 22.30 to $1150.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.36% or 0.15 to hit $41.42 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.33% or 0.15 to trade at $47.01 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.88% to 2.8998, while EUR/TRY fell 0.08% to 3.2524.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.49% at 95.95.
