Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Food & Beverages, Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic and Textile & Leather sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 0.56%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Metro Holding (IS:METRO), which rose 3.42% or 0.040 points to trade at 1.210 at the close. Meanwhile, Besiktas Futbol Yat. (IS:BJKAS) added 3.39% or 0.170 points to end at 5.180 and Gsd Holding (IS:GSDHO) was up 3.28% or 0.020 points to 0.630 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were T. Halk Bankasi (IS:HALKB), which fell 6.06% or 0.73 points to trade at 11.31 at the close. Halk Gmyo (IS:HLGYO) declined 5.77% or 0.060 points to end at 0.980 and Anadolu Efes (IS:AEFES) was down 4.76% or 1.00 points to 20.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 236 to 108 and 64 ended unchanged.
Shares in Metro Holding (IS:METRO) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 3.42% or 0.040 to 1.210.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.13% or 1.55 to $1224.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 0.89% or 0.47 to hit $53.40 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 1.08% or 0.60 to trade at $56.19 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.19% to 3.6787, while EUR/TRY fell 0.11% to 3.8886.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.33% at 101.33.
