Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Basic Metals, Wholesale & Retail Trade and Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 0.56%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Celebi (IS:CLEBI), which rose 6.39% or 1.32 points to trade at 21.98 at the close. Meanwhile, Koza Altin (IS:KOZAL) added 5.17% or 0.81 points to end at 16.48 and Deva Holding (IS:DEVA) was up 2.96% or 0.100 points to 3.480 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS), which fell 3.33% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.290 at the close. Trabzonspor Sportif (IS:TSPOR) declined 3.31% or 0.100 points to end at 2.920 and Eregli Demir Celik (IS:EREGL) was down 3.08% or 0.160 points to 5.040.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 186 to 152 and 70 ended unchanged.
Gold for February delivery was up 0.37% or 4.25 to $1141.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 0.08% or 0.04 to hit $52.91 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 0.45% or 0.25 to trade at $54.96 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.04% to 3.5042, while EUR/TRY fell 0.09% to 3.6596.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.15% at 102.77.
