Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Tourism, Wholesale & Retail Trade and Metal Products & Machinery sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 0.45%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Zorlu Enerji Elektrik Uretim AS (IS:ZOREN), which rose 4.20% or 0.050 points to trade at 1.240 at the close. Meanwhile, Aygaz AS (IS:AYGAZ) added 3.43% or 0.53 points to end at 15.96 and Akenerji Elektrik Uretim AS (IS:AKENR) was up 3.37% or 0.030 points to 0.920 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Galatasaray Sportif Sinai ve Ticari Yatirimlar AS (IS:GSRAY), which fell 6.58% or 2.10 points to trade at 29.80 at the close. Dogus Otomotiv Servis ve Ticaret AS (IS:DOAS) declined 3.85% or 0.36 points to end at 8.98 and Ford Otomotiv Sanayi AS (IS:FROTO) was down 2.70% or 1.06 points to 38.20.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 208 to 139 and 57 ended unchanged.
Shares in Aygaz AS (IS:AYGAZ) rose to all time highs; gaining 3.43% or 0.53 to 15.96.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 1.67% or 20.70 to $1257.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 1.38% or 0.67 to hit $49.33 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 1.61% or 0.83 to trade at $52.48 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.55% to 3.5583, while EUR/TRY rose 1.13% to 3.9678.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.55% at 97.56.
