Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Food & Beverages, Sports and Metal Products & Machinery sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 0.43%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Dogan Holding (IS:DOHOL), which rose 4.29% or 0.030 points to trade at 0.730 at the close. Meanwhile, Fenerbahce Futbol (IS:FENER) added 3.49% or 1.30 points to end at 38.56 and Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS) was up 3.45% or 0.010 points to 0.300 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Galatasaray Sportif (IS:GSRAY), which fell 9.12% or 3.30 points to trade at 32.90 at the close. Ulker Biskuvi (IS:ULKER) declined 5.97% or 0.98 points to end at 15.43 and Gozde Girisim (IS:GOZDE) was down 4.42% or 0.080 points to 1.730.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 233 to 110 and 65 ended unchanged.
Shares in Ulker Biskuvi (IS:ULKER) fell to 52-week lows; losing 5.97% or 0.98 to 15.43. Shares in Gozde Girisim (IS:GOZDE) fell to 5-year lows; down 4.42% or 0.080 to 1.730.
Gold for February delivery was up 0.37% or 4.25 to $1137.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 1.36% or 0.72 to hit $53.74 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 1.25% or 0.70 to trade at $56.60 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.36% to 3.5251, while EUR/TRY rose 0.39% to 3.6872.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.08% at 103.03.
