Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Wholesale & Retail Trade, Food & Beverages and Basic Metals sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 0.24%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS), which rose 8.11% or 0.030 points to trade at 0.400 at the close. Meanwhile, Kartonsan (IS:KARTN) added 6.99% or 20.00 points to end at 306.00 and Park Elek. Madencilik (IS:PRKME) was up 5.77% or 0.120 points to 2.200 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Metro Holding (IS:METRO), which fell 6.21% or 0.100 points to trade at 1.510 at the close. Global Yat. Holding (IS:GLYHO) declined 4.81% or 0.130 points to end at 2.570 and Kardemir Karabuk Demir Celik Sanayi ve Ticaret D (IS:KRDMD) was down 3.25% or 0.040 points to 1.190.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 183 to 152 and 68 ended unchanged.
Shares in Kartonsan (IS:KARTN) rose to 52-week highs; rising 6.99% or 20.00 to 306.00.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.64% or 7.85 to $1225.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 1.10% or 0.58 to hit $53.19 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 1.11% or 0.61 to trade at $55.69 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.24% to 3.7193, while EUR/TRY rose 0.18% to 3.9273.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.26% at 101.89.
