Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Basic Metals, Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic and Holdings & Investments sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 0.04%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Trabzonspor Sportif (IS:TSPOR), which rose 9.33% or 0.280 points to trade at 3.280 at the close. Meanwhile, Metro Holding (IS:METRO) added 4.90% or 0.050 points to end at 1.070 and Kartonsan (IS:KARTN) was up 4.19% or 11.00 points to 273.80 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Galatasaray Sportif (IS:GSRAY), which fell 7.12% or 3.22 points to trade at 42.00 at the close. Koza Madencilik (IS:KOZAA) declined 5.91% or 0.140 points to end at 2.230 and Ipek Dogal Enerji (IS:IPEKE) was down 5.65% or 0.130 points to 2.170.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 185 to 144 and 77 ended unchanged.
Shares in Metro Holding (IS:METRO) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 4.90% or 0.050 to 1.070.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.39% or 5.00 to $1268.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 1.00% or 0.50 to hit $49.46 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.24% or 0.63 to trade at $50.16 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.49% to 3.0861, while EUR/TRY rose 0.76% to 3.3699.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.17% at 98.52.
