Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Leasing & Factoring, Banking and Transport sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 0.00%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Afyon Cimento (IS:AFYON), which rose 10.83% or 0.87 points to trade at 8.90 at the close. Meanwhile, Petkim (IS:PETKM) added 3.23% or 0.120 points to end at 3.830 and Eregli Demir Celik (IS:EREGL) was up 3.11% or 0.150 points to 4.970 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Gsd Holding (IS:GSDHO), which fell 3.39% or 0.020 points to trade at 0.570 at the close. Do-Co (IS:DOCO) declined 3.29% or 8.00 points to end at 235.00 and Akbank (IS:AKBNK) was down 2.48% or 0.19 points to 7.47.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 187 to 154 and 67 ended unchanged.
Shares in Afyon Cimento (IS:AFYON) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 10.83% or 0.87 to 8.90.
Gold for February delivery was up 0.21% or 2.45 to $1187.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 1.31% or 0.68 to hit $51.28 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 1.60% or 0.88 to trade at $54.06 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 1.44% to 3.7669, while EUR/TRY rose 1.55% to 3.9886.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.15% at 101.77.
