Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Insurance, Information Technology and Banking sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 3.25% to hit a new 3-months low.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Alfa Solar Enerji AS (IS:ALFAS), which rose 5.13% or 2.70 points to trade at 55.30 at the close. Meanwhile, Besiktas Futbol Yatirimlari Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:BJKAS) added 4.55% or 0.26 points to end at 5.97 and ENKA Insaat ve Sanayi AS (IS:ENKAI) was up 1.63% or 0.74 points to 46.04 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Karsan Otomotiv Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:KARSN), which fell 9.97% or 1.72 points to trade at 15.53 at the close. ODAS Elektrik Uretim Sanayi Ticaret AS (IS:ODAS) declined 8.94% or 0.58 points to end at 5.91 and Reeder Teknoloji Sanayi Ve Ticaret AS (IS:REEDR) was down 8.35% or 2.14 points to 23.48.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 507 to 65 and 4 ended unchanged.
Shares in ODAS Elektrik Uretim Sanayi Ticaret AS (IS:ODAS) fell to 52-week lows; down 8.94% or 0.58 to 5.91.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.00% or 26.60 to $2,686.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 4.46% or 3.04 to hit $71.21 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 4.10% or 2.94 to trade at $74.64 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.17% to 34.22, while EUR/TRY fell 0.59% to 37.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.52% at 101.04.
