Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Basic Metals, Metal Products & Machinery and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 2.49%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Celebi (IS:CLEBI), which rose 7.83% or 1.52 points to trade at 20.94 at the close. Meanwhile, Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS) added 7.69% or 0.020 points to end at 0.280 and Odas Elektrik (IS:ODAS) was up 6.71% or 0.450 points to 7.160 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Netas Telekomunikasyon AS (IS:NETAS), which fell 2.69% or 0.28 points to trade at 10.14 at the close. Net Turizm (IS:NTTUR) declined 2.22% or 0.030 points to end at 1.320 and Yazicilar Holding (IS:YAZIC) was down 1.77% or 0.23 points to 12.77.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 310 to 51 and 46 ended unchanged.
Gold for February delivery was down 0.24% or 2.85 to $1173.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 2.05% or 1.06 to hit $50.73 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 1.80% or 0.99 to trade at $53.95 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 2.24% to 3.4446, while EUR/TRY fell 2.55% to 3.6972.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.24% at 100.40.
