Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Transport, Food & Beverages and Wood, Paper & Printing sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 1.11%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Pegasus (IS:PGSUS), which rose 7.29% or 0.920 points to trade at 13.540 at the close. Meanwhile, Karsan Otomotiv (IS:KARSN) added 5.77% or 0.060 points to end at 1.100 and Celebi (IS:CLEBI) was up 4.55% or 1.00 points to 22.96 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS), which fell 3.33% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.290 at the close. Galatasaray Sportif (IS:GSRAY) declined 1.58% or 0.52 points to end at 32.38 and Hurriyet Gzt. (IS:HURGZ) was down 1.41% or 0.010 points to 0.700.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 231 to 104 and 71 ended unchanged.
Gold for February delivery was up 0.07% or 0.85 to $1139.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.33% or 0.18 to hit $54.08 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 0.37% or 0.21 to trade at $57.04 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.56% to 3.5413, while EUR/TRY fell 0.04% to 3.6828.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.38% at 103.39.
