Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Transport, Electricity and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 1.04% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Kardemir Karabuk Demir Celik Sanayi ve Ticaret D (IS:KRDMD), which rose 5.61% or 0.060 points to trade at 1.130 at the close. Meanwhile, Zorlu Enerji (IS:ZOREN) added 4.08% or 0.060 points to end at 1.530 and Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS) was up 3.57% or 0.010 points to 0.290 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Galatasaray Sportif (IS:GSRAY), which fell 5.73% or 1.96 points to trade at 32.22 at the close. Ipek Dogal Enerji (IS:IPEKE) declined 2.11% or 0.050 points to end at 2.320 and Gsd Holding (IS:GSDHO) was down 1.75% or 0.010 points to 0.560.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 279 to 75 and 53 ended unchanged.
Gold for February delivery was down 3.15% or 36.65 to $1127.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 1.02% or 0.52 to hit $50.52 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 0.35% or 0.19 to trade at $53.71 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.34% to 3.5215, while EUR/TRY fell 1.53% to 3.6654.
The US Dollar Index was up 1.26% at 103.32.
