Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Wholesale & Retail Trade, Banking and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 0.99% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Galatasaray Sportif (IS:GSRAY), which rose 3.79% or 1.10 points to trade at 30.14 at the close. Meanwhile, Park Elek. Madencilik (IS:PRKME) added 3.05% or 0.060 points to end at 2.030 and T.S.K.B. (IS:TSKB) was up 2.99% or 0.040 points to 1.380 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Soda Sanayii (IS:SODA), which fell 2.03% or 0.100 points to trade at 4.820 at the close. Albaraka Turk (IS:ALBRK) declined 1.68% or 0.020 points to end at 1.170 and Coca Cola Icecek (IS:CCOLA) was down 1.36% or 0.46 points to 33.38.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 206 to 126 and 76 ended unchanged.
Gold for February delivery was down 0.54% or 6.35 to $1159.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.17% or 0.09 to hit $52.74 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 0.16% or 0.09 to trade at $55.60 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.85% to 3.4983, while EUR/TRY rose 0.88% to 3.7231.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.03% at 100.97.
