Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Wholesale & Retail Trade, Insurance and Metal Products & Machinery sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 0.91%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Otokar (IS:OTKAR), which rose 6.48% or 6.50 points to trade at 106.80 at the close. Meanwhile, Carrefoursa Carrefour Sabanci Ticaret Merkezi AS (IS:CRFSA) added 6.26% or 0.42 points to end at 7.13 and Borusan Mannesmann (IS:BRSAN) was up 4.72% or 0.38 points to 8.43 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Izmir Demir Celik (IS:IZMDC), which fell 4.56% or 0.130 points to trade at 2.720 at the close. Afyon Cimento (IS:AFYON) declined 4.46% or 0.37 points to end at 7.93 and Torunlar Gmyo (IS:TRGYO) was down 3.38% or 0.16 points to 4.58.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 172 to 149 and 82 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.42% or 5.35 to $1284.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.27% or 0.12 to hit $45.01 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.04% or 0.02 to trade at $46.17 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.28% to 3.1768, while EUR/TRY rose 0.35% to 3.5099.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.05% at 97.73.
