Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Tourism, Leasing & Factoring and Wood, Paper & Printing sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 added 0.80% to hit a new 6-months high.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Odas Elektrik (IS:ODAS), which rose 7.47% or 0.620 points to trade at 8.920 at the close. Meanwhile, Dogan Holding (IS:DOHOL) added 6.17% or 0.050 points to end at 0.860 and Aygaz (IS:AYGAZ) was up 5.25% or 0.62 points to 12.43 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Tumosan Motor Ve Traktor (IS:TMSN), which fell 3.99% or 0.340 points to trade at 8.180 at the close. Gubre Fabrik. (IS:GUBRF) declined 2.48% or 0.13 points to end at 5.11 and Koza Altin (IS:KOZAL) was down 2.17% or 0.39 points to 17.61.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 219 to 118 and 71 ended unchanged.
Shares in Aygaz (IS:AYGAZ) rose to all time highs; rising 5.25% or 0.62 to 12.43.
Gold for February delivery was up 1.44% or 17.25 to $1213.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.34% or 0.18 to hit $52.55 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.36% or 0.20 to trade at $55.66 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.69% to 3.7781, while EUR/TRY rose 0.16% to 4.0412.
The US Dollar Index was down 1.04% at 100.47.
