Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Sports, Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic and Information Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 0.72%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Afyon Cimento (IS:AFYON), which rose 21.13% or 4.10 points to trade at 23.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Galatasaray Sportif (IS:GSRAY) added 17.31% or 4.05 points to end at 27.45 and Netas Telekomunikasyon AS (IS:NETAS) was up 7.84% or 1.00 points to 13.75 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Anadolu Efes (IS:AEFES), which fell 3.91% or 1.00 points to trade at 24.55 at the close. Otokar (IS:OTKAR) declined 2.46% or 2.20 points to end at 87.30 and Dogan Holding (IS:DOHOL) was down 1.67% or 0.010 points to 0.600.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 236 to 174 and 8 ended unchanged.
Shares in Netas Telekomunikasyon AS (IS:NETAS) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 7.84% or 1.00 to 13.75.
Gold for August delivery was down 0.05% or 0.60 to $1157.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.11% or 0.06 to hit $52.80 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.30% or 0.17 to trade at $58.83 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.71% to 2.6484, while EUR/TRY fell 1.86% to 2.9202.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.91% at 96.83.
