Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Electricity, Basic Metals and Tourism sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 added 0.68% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Ipek Dogal Enerji (IS:IPEKE), which rose 10.50% or 0.230 points to trade at 2.420 at the close. Meanwhile, Koza Madencilik (IS:KOZAA) added 10.26% or 0.240 points to end at 2.580 and Vestel (IS:VESTL) was up 5.57% or 0.320 points to 6.070 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Alcatel Lucent Teletas (IS:ALCTL), which fell 2.92% or 0.200 points to trade at 6.650 at the close. Carrefoursa Carrefour Sabanci Ticaret Merkezi AS (IS:CRFSA) declined 2.55% or 0.19 points to end at 7.27 and Metro Holding (IS:METRO) was down 2.00% or 0.020 points to 0.980.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 171 to 163 and 74 ended unchanged.

Gold for February delivery was down 0.03% or 0.35 to $1161.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 3.48% or 1.79 to hit $53.29 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 3.42% or 1.86 to trade at $56.19 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.19% to 3.4838, while EUR/TRY rose 0.57% to 3.6944.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.34% at 101.25.
