Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Banking, Telecoms and Information Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 added 0.54%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS), which rose 7.69% or 0.030 points to trade at 0.420 at the close. Meanwhile, T. Halk Bankasi (IS:HALKB) added 5.24% or 0.60 points to end at 12.06 and Aksa Enerji (IS:AKSEN) was up 3.96% or 0.120 points to 3.150 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Park Elek. Madencilik (IS:PRKME), which fell 6.45% or 0.180 points to trade at 2.610 at the close. Ayen Enerji (IS:AYEN) declined 3.90% or 0.170 points to end at 4.190 and Global Yat. Holding (IS:GLYHO) was down 3.79% or 0.110 points to 2.790.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 177 to 166 and 64 ended unchanged.
Shares in Aksa Enerji (IS:AKSEN) rose to 52-week highs; up 3.96% or 0.120 to 3.150.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.11% or 1.35 to $1254.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 1.95% or 0.93 to hit $48.66 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 1.85% or 0.94 to trade at $51.84 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.28% to 3.6268, while EUR/TRY rose 0.16% to 3.9367.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.10% at 99.13.
