Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Insurance, Wholesale & Retail Trade and Electricity sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 0.37%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Aksa Akrilik Kimya Sanayi AS (IS:AKSA), which rose 10.73% or 1.24 points to trade at 12.80 at the close. Meanwhile, Koza Anadolu Metal Madencilik Isletmeleri AS (IS:KOZAA) added 9.63% or 0.210 points to end at 2.390 and Koza Altin Isletmeleri AS (IS:KOZAL) was up 7.90% or 1.40 points to 19.13 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Galatasaray Sportif Sinai ve Ticari Yatirimlar AS (IS:GSRAY), which fell 3.82% or 1.24 points to trade at 31.24 at the close. Alcatel Lucent Teletas Telekomunikasyon AS (IS:ALCTL) declined 2.07% or 0.230 points to end at 10.890 and Ulker Biskuvi Sanayi AS (IS:ULKER) was down 1.74% or 0.35 points to 19.81.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 180 to 164 and 64 ended unchanged.
Shares in Aksa Akrilik Kimya Sanayi AS (IS:AKSA) rose to all time highs; gaining 10.73% or 1.24 to 12.80.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 1.05% or 13.55 to $1279.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.09% or 0.04 to hit $45.76 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.12% or 0.06 to trade at $48.00 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.69% to 3.5248, while EUR/TRY fell 1.04% to 3.9558.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.32% at 96.98.
