Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Transport, Basic Metals and Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 0.32%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Ege Endustri (IS:EGEEN), which rose 9.97% or 22.30 points to trade at 245.90 at the close. Meanwhile, Alarko Gmyo (IS:ALGYO) added 3.79% or 1.42 points to end at 38.90 and Turk Hava Yollari (IS:THYAO) was up 2.90% or 0.140 points to 4.960 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS), which fell 6.67% or 0.020 points to trade at 0.280 at the close. Hurriyet Gzt. (IS:HURGZ) declined 3.80% or 0.030 points to end at 0.760 and Dogan Holding (IS:DOHOL) was down 2.47% or 0.020 points to 0.790.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 189 to 144 and 74 ended unchanged.
Gold for February delivery was up 1.51% or 17.65 to $1182.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.09% or 0.05 to hit $53.31 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 0.16% or 0.09 to trade at $56.55 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 1.10% to 3.6089, while EUR/TRY rose 2.17% to 3.8292.
The US Dollar Index was down 1.07% at 101.39.
