Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Basic Metals, Textile & Leather and Transport sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 0.72% to hit a new 6-months high.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Vestel Elektronik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:VESTL), which rose 6.39% or 0.540 points to trade at 8.990 at the close. Meanwhile, Kardemir Karabuk Demir Celik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS Class D (IS:KRDMD) added 5.49% or 0.140 points to end at 2.690 and Iskenderun Demir ve Celik AS (IS:ISDMR) was up 4.67% or 0.330 points to 7.390 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ihlas Gayrimenkul Proje Gelistirme ve Ticaret AS (IS:IHLGM), which fell 8.18% or 0.090 points to trade at 1.010 at the close. Albaraka Turk Katilim Bankasi AS (IS:ALBRK) declined 5.47% or 0.110 points to end at 1.900 and Gersan Elektrik Ticaret ve Sanayi AS (IS:GEREL) was down 5.34% or 0.140 points to 2.480.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 176 to 169 and 61 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.02% or 0.20 to $1329.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 0.32% or 0.18 to hit $55.66 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 0.82% or 0.53 to trade at $65.44 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.23% to 5.3125, while EUR/TRY rose 0.26% to 6.0359.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.17% at 96.107.
