Turkey stocks higher at close of trade; BIST 100 up 0.13%

Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Food & Beverages, Transport and Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 added 0.13%.

The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Sekerbank TAS (IS:SKBNK), which rose 7.32% or 0.090 points to trade at 1.320 at the close. Meanwhile, Park Elektrik Uretim Madencilik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:PRKME) added 5.56% or 0.140 points to end at 2.660 and Brisa Bridgestone Sabanci Lastik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:BRISA) was up 4.96% or 0.34 points to 7.20 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Zorlu Enerji Elektrik Uretim AS (IS:ZOREN), which fell 7.69% or 0.110 points to trade at 1.320 at the close. Karsan Otomotiv Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:KARSN) declined 4.26% or 0.060 points to end at 1.350 and Kardemir Karabuk Demir Celik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS Class D (IS:KRDMD) was down 4.07% or 0.100 points to 2.360.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 215 to 145 and 47 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.19% or 2.45 to $1316.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 0.84% or 0.45 to hit $54.11 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 0.90% or 0.56 to trade at $62.54 a barrel.

USD/TRY was up 0.52% to 5.2195, while EUR/TRY rose 0.25% to 5.9402.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.18% at 95.985.
