Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the , Hotels and Cement sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted declined 1.06%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Leadtrend (TW:3588), which rose 9.95% or 2.90 points to trade at 32.05 at the close. Meanwhile, Walton (TW:8110) added 9.94% or 0.94 points to end at 10.40 and Hanpin (TW:2488) was up 9.91% or 5.50 points to 61.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Tainan Cayman (TW:5906), which fell 9.08% or 0.630 points to trade at 6.310 at the close. Lung Hwa Eltrs (TW:2424) declined 6.47% or 1.50 points to end at 21.70 and Ritek (TW:2349) was down 5.76% or 0.260 points to 4.250.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 443 to 276 and 132 ended unchanged.
Shares in Hanpin (TW:2488) rose to all time highs; gaining 9.91% or 5.50 to 61.00.
Crude oil for October delivery was down 1.11% or 0.53 to $47.09 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 1.22% or 0.61 to hit $49.38 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.16% or 2.15 to trade at $1339.45 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.48% to 31.450, while TWD/CNY rose 0.38% to 0.2133.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.08% at 94.96.
