Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the , Cement and Cement & Glass sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted declined 0.36%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Nan Ya Pcb Cor (TW:8046), which rose 9.92% or 2.40 points to trade at 26.60 at the close. Meanwhile, Leadtrend (TW:3588) added 9.91% or 3.30 points to end at 36.60 and Tpcc (TW:4725) was up 9.86% or 2.15 points to 23.95 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Transasia (TW:6702), which fell 10.00% or 0.11 points to trade at 0.99 at the close. Crowell (TW:2528) declined 8.47% or 0.58 points to end at 6.27 and Evertex (TW:1470) was down 4.88% or 0.95 points to 18.50.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 390 to 374 and 110 ended unchanged.
Shares in Transasia (TW:6702) fell to all time lows; down 10.00% or 0.11 to 0.99. Shares in Tpcc (TW:4725) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 9.86% or 2.15 to 23.95.
Crude oil for January delivery was up 0.57% or 0.29 to $51.19 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 0.44% or 0.24 to hit $54.26 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 0.49% or 5.55 to trade at $1135.35 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.04% to 31.906, while TWD/CNY rose 0.28% to 0.2179.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.20% at 102.94.
