Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the , Oil, Gas & Electricity and Rubber sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted fell 0.32%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Transasia (TW:6702), which rose 9.94% or 0.34 points to trade at 3.76 at the close. Meanwhile, Goldsun Const (TW:2504) added 9.94% or 0.62 points to end at 6.86 and Ene (TW:6243) was up 9.82% or 1.35 points to 15.10 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Jye Tai Precision Industrial Co Ltd (TW:6165), which fell 8.19% or 1.15 points to trade at 12.90 at the close. AP Memory Technology Corp (TW:6531) declined 5.57% or 4.10 points to end at 69.50 and Yu Foung Intl (TW:1438) was down 4.36% or 0.170 points to 3.730.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 402 to 343 and 123 ended unchanged.

Crude oil for January delivery was down 0.76% or 0.36 to $46.72 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February fell 0.89% or 0.44 to hit $48.77 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.02% or 0.20 to trade at $1191.00 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.13% to 31.795, while TWD/CNY fell 0.32% to 0.2168.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.09% at 101.30.
