Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the , Hotels and Other Electronic sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted declined 0.26%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Sumagh High Tech Corp (TW:1475), which rose 9.89% or 2.30 points to trade at 25.55 at the close. Meanwhile, Cheer Time Enterprise Co Ltd (TW:3229) added 9.88% or 2.40 points to end at 26.70 and Uniflex Technology Inc (TW:3321) was up 9.65% or 1.25 points to 14.20 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Gigastorage Corp (TW:2406), which fell 8.21% or 1.60 points to trade at 17.90 at the close. Farglory Land Development Co Ltd (TW:5522) declined 6.70% or 2.80 points to end at 39.00 and Jui Li Enterprise Co Ltd (TW:1512) was down 5.84% or 0.80 points to 12.90.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 390 to 366 and 120 ended unchanged.
Shares in Sumagh High Tech Corp (TW:1475) rose to 3-years highs; up 9.89% or 2.30 to 25.55. Shares in Gigastorage Corp (TW:2406) fell to 52-week lows; losing 8.21% or 1.60 to 17.90. Shares in Cheer Time Enterprise Co Ltd (TW:3229) rose to 52-week highs; rising 9.88% or 2.40 to 26.70.
Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.60% or 0.27 to $45.20 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.61% or 0.29 to hit $47.92 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.09% or 1.06 to trade at $1244.74 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.09% to 30.403, while TWD/CNY fell 0.22% to 0.2233.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.04% at 95.28.
