Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the , Transport and Other Electronic sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted fell 0.21% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Pec (TW:4916), which rose 9.90% or 4.15 points to trade at 46.05 at the close. Meanwhile, Hiti Digital (TW:3494) added 9.77% or 1.30 points to end at 14.60 and Via Tech (TW:2388) was up 9.71% or 1.35 points to 15.25 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ritek (TW:2349), which fell 10.00% or 0.27 points to trade at 2.43 at the close. Casetek (TW:5264) declined 10.00% or 13.50 points to end at 121.50 and Hsin Ba Ba (TW:9906) was down 9.98% or 2.00 points to 18.05.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 387 to 372 and 87 ended unchanged.
Shares in Ritek (TW:2349) fell to all time lows; losing 10.00% or 0.27 to 2.43.
Crude oil for June delivery was up 2.01% or 0.88 to $44.66 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 1.46% or 0.65 to hit $45.27 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.58% or 7.35 to trade at $1281.75 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.02% to 32.354, while TWD/CNY rose 0.10% to 0.2008.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.06% at 93.21.
