Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the , Paper & Pulp and Electricity sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted fell 0.10%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Theil (TW:6271), which rose 10.00% or 13.00 points to trade at 143.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Walton Chainte (TW:2425) added 9.95% or 1.95 points to end at 21.55 and Shuttle (TW:2405) was up 9.94% or 0.99 points to 10.95 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Bonny Worldwide Ltd (TW:8467), which fell 5.66% or 2.40 points to trade at 40.00 at the close. Lung Hwa Eltrs (TW:2424) declined 5.63% or 1.35 points to end at 22.65 and Pqi (TW:6145) was down 5.00% or 0.80 points to 15.20.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 488 to 273 and 116 ended unchanged.
Shares in Theil (TW:6271) rose to 52-week highs; rising 10.00% or 13.00 to 143.00.
Crude oil for April delivery was up 0.86% or 0.46 to $54.05 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 0.82% or 0.46 to hit $56.30 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.31% or 3.85 to trade at $1237.15 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.05% to 30.766, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.00% to 0.2246.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 101.34.
