Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the , Optoelectronic and Oil, Gas & Electricity sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted lost 0.02%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Dynamic (TW:6251), which rose 10.00% or 1.00 points to trade at 11.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Airtac (TW:1590) added 10.00% or 22.00 points to end at 242.00 and Sunrace (TW:1526) was up 9.96% or 1.40 points to 15.45 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Genesis Photon (TW:3383), which fell 9.84% or 0.48 points to trade at 4.40 at the close. Svbi (TW:1786) declined 9.74% or 5.70 points to end at 52.80 and Yoko Tech (TW:6131) was down 7.17% or 0.85 points to 11.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 383 to 374 and 97 ended unchanged.
Shares in Dynamic (TW:6251) rose to 52-week highs; rising 10.00% or 1.00 to 11.00.
Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.83% or 0.37 to $44.86 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 0.70% or 0.33 to hit $47.30 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.17% or 2.35 to trade at $1345.55 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.27% to 31.315, while TWD/CNY rose 0.14% to 0.2118.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.04% at 95.64.
