Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the , Semiconductor and Textile sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted lost 1.73% to hit a new 3-months low.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were G.M.I Technology Inc (TW:3312), which rose 9.96% or 5.60 points to trade at 61.80 at the close. Meanwhile, Answer Technology Co Ltd (TW:3528) added 9.90% or 6.70 points to end at 74.40 and Clevo Co (TW:2362) was up 6.40% or 3.05 points to 50.70 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Aurotek Corp (TW:6215), which fell 10.00% or 10.50 points to trade at 94.50 at the close. Hwang Chang General Contractor Co Ltd (TW:2543) declined 9.95% or 10.50 points to end at 95.00 and In Win Development Inc (TW:6117) was down 9.01% or 9.10 points to 91.90.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 0 to 0.
Shares in Answer Technology Co Ltd (TW:3528) rose to all time highs; rising 9.90% or 6.70 to 74.40.
Crude oil for April delivery was down 0.35% or 0.24 to $67.44 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 0.27% or 0.19 to hit $70.76 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.03% or 0.87 to trade at $2,947.67 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.07% to 32.97, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.07% to 0.22.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.02% at 103.61.
